Leather of all uses
The latest trends in leather fashion seem to be aimed squarely at both sexes. As always leather crosses the gender divide very easily and with jackets, shoes, briefcases and handbags all still massive sellers, it is hard to imagine leather ever being out of vogue.
The trends for 2011 seem to be mimicking the world’s economy in that the designs being showcased on the catwalks are much more disciplined and minimalist than in previous years. Military style jackets are all the rage for women this season whilst leather briefcases are coming back in big time for both sexes. In fact more leather briefcase designs have been produced in the past year than ever before showing an increasing desire for both men and women to be associated with a professional image. This is hardly surprising considering the amount of unemployment there is out in the world at the moment. But working parents found the leather briefcase to be useful in more ways than one,
One parent recently commented that she was regularly using her briefcase to store her toddler’s clothes and underjams when on the move. She got the idea from an underjams review which recommended leather as a perfect antidote to clothes becoming smelly and/or dirty when on the move. So it seems leather has become not only just another fashion accessory, but a fashion accessory with a wholly practical use in everyday life.
With consumers up and down the country desperate to retain their professional veneer and save pennies, the latest leather fashion items have offered them the perfect go-between.
